Hawaii Is Rabies-Free
Hawaii is rabies-free, and strict regulations are in place to maintain this status. Bringing your pet dog or cat to Hawaii for a short visit requires extensive preparation, documentation, and sometimes a period of quarantine upon arrival.
Therefore, it’s advisable to leave your pets at home to prevent the introduction of rabies to the state. Current law mandates that dogs, cats, and carnivores must undergo a quarantine period of 5 days or less to enter Hawaii.
