2 year-old child was found dead around 1:45 p.m on Wednesday (June 15th, 2016) afternoon after being dragged into water by an alligator the night before. The tragedy happened at Disney Resort in Orlando despite his parents’ struggle to save the kid’s life.
A nightmare out of a sudden
That terrible night, the toddler and his family were playing and relaxing at a sandy beach area. Then suddenly, an alligator attacked the 2 years old boy and dragged him into the lake. Immediately, his father fighting hard with the animal in order to save the boy, his mother also went after him and they alerted a lifeguard nearby, but everything was useless, the child was taken away.
Next day, the boy’s body was found intact by a team of 50 Orange County sheriff’s officials around 1:45 p.m. local time. Seemed like the boy was drowned by the alligator. The body was turned over to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. The poor child was identified as Lane Graves and he stayed at Grand Floridian with his parents and a sibling. They come from Elkhorn, Nebraska.
Resolution of Walt Disney World
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said that it was the first time such incident happened at the Disney resort in 45 years. As the result, Disney had also closed the beaches, CNN reported. According to officials, the company has been cooperative throughout the search for the child.
Executive director of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Nick Wiley, confirmed that on Wednesday, five alligators had been caught and euthanized. Wiley added that Disney is extensively working with the Fish and Wildlife Commission to remove alligators from its property. Such accident happened very unexpectedly and out of the control. Anyone involved and the whole world feel very sorry for the unfortunate kid and his family. This is one kind of a loss that nothing can compensate.
