Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain, the legendary musician and frontman of Nirvana, harbored strong feelings about the band’s biggest hit, “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Despite its iconic status, Cobain admitted his discomfort with the song’s overexposure. He believed the song’s constant presence on MTV and its widespread popularity had led to an excessive focus on it.

In his own words, Cobain expressed, “It’s almost an embarrassment to play.” He attributed the song’s enthusiastic reception to its frequent exposure, lamenting that he struggled to perform it, particularly on difficult nights. He sometimes felt the urge to abandon it mid-performance.
