28. Not-A-Fair Play
During my time as a server at a sports bar that hosted major pay-per-view events. I had an unusual encounter one night. A customer at my table pulled out a $100 bill. And asked if I could break it into 100 one-dollar bills. I explained that I needed the manager to open the safe. And since it was a busy evening, it might take some time. The man assured me it wasn’t a problem.
Later, I managed to get him the 100 singles, and the night continued with the matches. As the final match, a title fight, concluded and the winner was announced. The man dramatically threw all 100 one-dollar bills into the air. Exclaiming, “There’s your tip!” It was an odd and disrespectful way to treat his waitress. And it left a lasting impression on me.
