Environmentally Friendly?
Brands like Calavo need to get their act together. As a company, they pride themselves on sustainability and environmentally friendly practices, but it’s as if they didn’t realize that avocados already come in their own natural and compostable packaging. When you think about it, pre-peeled avocado halves are the convenience food we never needed.
This avocado has been pre-cut and then wrapped in plastic and cardboard. Adding packaging to avocados is perplexing, and consumers were left bewildered as this post went viral on Instagram.
