Krissie Newman & Ryan Newman
Ryan Newman, a longtime racing driver and safety advocate for race cars, experienced a harrowing incident at the 2020 Daytona 500. His car was struck from behind at 190mph, flipping through the air before landing in a fiery crash. Remarkably, he escaped with only a minor head injury, thanks in part to the diligent safety efforts of his team.
In 2004, Newman married his wife, Krissie. As a team, they have actively participated in the management of a non-profit animal welfare organization known as “Rescue Ranch” since 2012. Early in 2020, they publicly announced on Krissie’s Twitter account that they had decided to “amicably separate.” While they have not legally divorced, they share two daughters, Brooklyn and Ashlyn.
