Cherry Chopstick
It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since Katy Perry’s hit song “I Kissed a Girl” was released. I looked it up for this article, and I’m still struggling to grasp that fact. Even after 15 years, you still hear people humming or singing that song occasionally, underscoring its iconic status.
And not just adults enjoy this song; kids do, too. I’m not sure how age-appropriate it is, but that’s another discussion. One girl was singing “cherry chopstick” instead of “cherry chapstick,” perhaps a good thing because it suggests she may not fully understand the song’s meaning and simply enjoys the music.
