Puffins, often called the “clowns of the sea,” have a unique culinary tradition in Iceland. People even consume puffin hearts raw as a delicacy. Iceland has a substantial puffin colony, numbering 10-15 million birds. It’s worth noting that Iceland is one of only two nations where hunting and consuming puffins are legally permitted.
