George Foreman

George Foreman’s remarkable journey can be divided into two distinct chapters. The initial chapter of his life was dominated by his ascent to the pinnacle of boxing, securing the title of world heavyweight champion, during which time he was married four times from 1971 to 1985. A transformative near-death experience then propelled him into his second chapter, leading him to embrace faith and become a born-again Christian pastor. In 1985, he married Mary Joan Martelly from St. Lucia, who foresaw a return to glory for Foreman in the boxing ring.

True to Martelly’s vision, Foreman defied expectations by reclaiming the heavyweight championship at the age of 45, making him the oldest boxer to achieve this feat. This victory marked a significant milestone in his life, and he has remained with Mary ever since. Beyond the ring, Foreman made a name for himself as the inventor of the George Foreman Grill and as a father to 12 children, famously naming all his sons George. Foreman’s extraordinary life and career have been captured in the 2023 biopic “Big George Foreman,” showcasing his enduring legacy.
