At 13, Djimon Hounsou was sent to live with his brother, but he soon ran away, ending up homeless in Pompidou, near Paris.
He begged for food, slept under bridges, and bathed in public fountains. At 21, a photographer spotted him sleeping on a bench and asked to take his photo. That chance encounter launched Djimon’s modeling career, eventually leading to his breakthrough in Hollywood films.
