In both versions of the story, she remains an enigmatic and mysterious figure, wielding formidable powers and serving a higher, often cryptic purpose. One noticeable difference lies in Carice van Houten’s striking blue eyes, a striking contrast to the character’s fiery red eyes as described in the books.
However, the decision not to use colored contact lenses to conceal her natural eye color was understandable, given the impact of her performance. It is a testament to the show’s commitment to remaining authentic to the character, even if it meant departing from a specific physical detail.
