#23 Understanding Dog’s Squinting

In humans, squinting is usually a reaction to bright light or discomfort in the eyes, but it can mean something entirely different in dogs. When your dog looks at you with squinting eyes, it’s often a gesture of affection.

This might seem unusual, but it’s one of the many ways dogs express their feelings. As long as the squinting is accompanied by a relaxed body posture and the dog isn’t pawing at its eyes, it’s a sign of affection, not discomfort.
